Welcome to the Bideford Friday Night Mixed Darts Web Site

The Bideford Mixed Darts League formed over 40 years ago, began as a friendly competition between two local pubs, the Lamb and the Jack of Both Sides (Johnny’s Bar for you youngsters). They held an inter pub mixed competition in 1972, culminating in a finals night to be held at the Kestrel Inn (now closed). Harold, being heavily involved in the darts scene at the time was asked to organise and run the finals which he agreed to do. Seeing a future in mixed darts he got together with local landlords and the Bideford League was formed in 1975. The initial league had only six teams which has now grown into 20 plus teams every season and amazingly during its 40 year life it has only had one Chairman (Harold) and three secretaries. The league at present is enjoying a very healthy position with an entry that many a Tuesday night league would aspire too and this is down (in no small part) to the participants, who treat the game of darts as it should be treated, a good night out win or lose.
